Lesson 362: Ibn al-Haytham
0 WPM100% Accuracy0:00 Time
Start typing
Ibn al Haytham was born in Basra, in
Iraq, in about 965. Many people then
thought that we see because light
shoots out of our eyes. He tested this
with experiments. He showed that light
travels in straight lines, and that we
see when light from things around us
comes into our eyes. His Book of Optics
was read for centuries. In Europe, he
was called Alhazen.
