The Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking, near
London, was built in 1889. It was the
first mosque in Britain built to be a
mosque from the start. A scholar named
Gottlieb Leitner planned it. The money
came from Shah Jahan, the woman who
ruled Bhopal in India, so it carries
her name. People still pray there today.
