Start typing
Ada Lovelace was born in London in
1815. She was the daughter of the poet
Lord Byron, but it was her mother who
made sure she studied math. Ada worked
with Charles Babbage, who planned a
machine called the Analytical Engine.
In 1843, she wrote notes that showed
how the machine could work out numbers
step by step. Many people call this the
first computer program.
